Welcome all to the website of Socialist Perspective ! The Journal now goes on line with effect from Vol 46, nos 1-2. All Life Members of Council for Political Studies will now have access to the online version of the Journal , including all the past issues, beginning with vol.1, as they will be archived gradually. This is a big step forward in the life of the Journal and it is because of the patronage of its readers that the production of this online version has been made possible. We look forward to the continued support of our members in our future endeavour.

Socialist Perspective, a peer-reviewed journal, is the quarterly organ of Council for Political Studies ( . The first issue of the Journal (vol1, no 1) came out in 1973 and since then 45 volumes have been published without break. Its founder editor, Professor Amal Kumar Mukhopadhyay (Former Professor of Political Science and Principal, Presidency College, Kolkata), edited the Journal for more than four decades. Thereafter it is being edited by Professor Sobhanlal Datta Gupta, Former Surendra Nath Banerjee Professor of Political Science, Calcutta University. This is one of the most distinguished journals in social science being published from the eastern region of India since 1973. In 2023 the journal will complete the 50th year of its publication.

Socialist Perspective is the official journal of CPS. It is being published regularly since 1972. The journal receives financial assistance from the Government of West Bengal from time to time. Life membership of CPS is inclusive of subscription of the journal.
